Because bathrooms are high-moisture areas, Brave Maggie Designs recommends avoiding all window treatments made of heavy fabrics or genuine wood. Bathroom window treatments can be made from Sunbrella fabric, which is rated for high moisture areas. Roman shades and roller shades are excellent options for these spaces.

There is no singular answer for how to dress arched windows, but we at Brave Maggie Designs suggest starting with the overall aesthetic first. Does the entire arch need to be covered or just the lower portion of the window? What is the size and placement of the arched window and how does that impact the window treatment hardware, fabric, and motorization options that are available? These are questions we answer for our clients during our in-home consultations.

Curtains, properly known as drapery, are not comparable to blinds. Blinds, often also referred to as shades, can be paired with drapery to create a completely custom, designer window covering. While each window treatment can also be used alone, their application depends primarily on the privacy needs, light filtering requirements, and the use of the space where they will be installed. These are decisions we help our clients make during our in-home consultations.
